Thanks to Comic-Con 2013, which officially gets underway today, we now have our first look at Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The newly released video is only a brief teaser for the footage that will be shown off at the convention but it does give us a glimpse at Jamie Foxx’s villain Electro. Though it may be super short, for a film this big and this highly anticipated, we’ll take what we can get.
So far, we’ve actually seen an awful lot from the film. Between Webb’s Tweets and the official promotional material that’s been released, we’re starting to get a pretty good idea of what to expect from the Spidey sequel. This clip doesn’t show off very much at all and really just acts as a teaser for the real footage that will be shown in a few days. Still, it’s cool to see some footage of Foxx in character and it should please the fans.
Admittedly, I wasn’t thrilled with The Amazing Spider-Man. Parts of it worked and parts of it didn’t but on the whole, it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. I’m hoping that the sequel will be a bit of improvement but as of now, I’m a bit worried about how many villains are set to appear in the film. Will Webb be able to juggle them all? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. That concern aside, I think that things are looking positive for the much anticipated film.
The panel for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 takes place this Friday at 4:05 PM. Stay tuned as we’ll bring you all the latest updates that arise from Comic-Con.
In the meantime, check out the footage below and let us know if you’re excited to see Foxx as Electro in the film.
