Finally, leave it to the British to include such a captivating star as David Tennant in their version of the Fright Night remake trailer. Tragically absent in the first two, Tennant had to wait for a third trailer for the film, which stars Anton Yelchin as Charlie and Colin Farrell as his undead neighbor, Jerry.
This particular trailer for Fright Night is also much funnier, with a handful of previously unheard jokes from Edward “Evil Ed” Thompson, played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse and comedic moments featuring Tennant, who plays Peter Vincent, an over-the-top vampire hunter.
One thing this trailer doesn’t make clear is whether Fright Night is more horror or comedy, but it definitely includes aspects of both. It also has a fair amount of sex appeal, be it Tennant’s pasty, British torso or the beautiful Imogen Poots, who plays Charlie’s girlfriend.
I’m not sure if Colin Farrell could ever be truly frightening, but it looks like he might be able to pull off a scary role in Fright Night, where terror isn’t the number one priority. Regardless, between the cast of actors involved and the classic storyline, I’m super excited for this one.
Fright Night will hit theaters on August 19th; check out the trailer below.
