A few days ago we got our first glimpse at Scott Cooper’s Out Of The Furnace with a couple pictures featuring Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson. Today, not only do we have some more images from the film, but we also have its first poster featuring a close-up on a very somber Bale.

In these images we get to see more of Bale, with one shot of him and Zoe Saldana receiving direction from Cooper, and another that appears to be a still from the film with Bale smiling at Saldana. The final image shows Casey Affleck shooting a fight scene with a large crowd in the background.

The poster is an extreme close-up on Bale, looking down at the ground as sparks rise in front of his face. It features the line, “Sometimes your battles choose you.” It isn’t the most exciting poster we’ve seen, but it definitely gets the job done, and is a quality piece of film art.

The story, which Cooper also wrote, is set in Braddock, Pennsylvania and revolves around Russell (Bale) and his younger brother Rodney (Affleck) who have always dreamed of finding better lives despite the fact they live in the depressed Rust Belt. A twist of fate lands Russell in prison, and Rodney is sucked into one of the most violent and ruthless crime rings in the Northeast (led by Harrelson). Once he is released from prison, Russell must choose between the safety of his freedom or risking it all to seek justice for his brother.

The cast also includes Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, and Sam Shepard. The film opens in limited theaters on November 27th before a wider release on December 6th.
