The latest rumors from Heroic Hollywood relate to Warner Bros.’ direct follow up to Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel, the likelihood of Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller taking the helm, and the bad guy we could see cause problems for Superman in the movie.
First off, contrary to a recent rumor, the site maintains that the planned sequel definitely isn’t “on permanent hold,” and has a tentative release date of 2019/2020.
As for who’ll be in the director’s chair, the latest on the George Miller front is that he’s apparently undecided about his next project, because Warner Bros. also like him for their Justice League Dark/Dark Universe movie that Guillermo del Toro was forced to drop out of. Word is that if he wants Man of Steel 2 though, it’s his for the taking.
[zergpaid]Finally, we might have an idea of which classic villain will be featured in the sequel. HH reckon it’ll be Brainiac: the extraterrestrial android who was going to appear in Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel sequel before that transitioned into Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The director was evidently very keen on using that character, but was uncertain about doing another invasion angle so soon after Zod’s forces menaced Earth in the first film .
Tell us, would you be excited to finally see a live-action version of Brainiac? And would you rather see Miller tackle the Man Of Steel or the motley bunch that make up the Justice League Dark? Let us know in the usual place.
