Imagine a world in which the planet-killing asteroid that wiped the dinosaurs off the face of the earth sailed on by, allowing the marauding prehistoric beasts to live on for generations to come. It’s exactly the premise that underpins Disney and Pixar’s latest animation The Good Dinosaur, and today brings forth another full-length trailer for the film that peels back the layers on its lush open world.
Arriving shortly after the release of the movie’s international trailer, the footage places Arlo the Apatosaurus front and center. When a ferocious storm comes barreling down off the primordial mountains, our titular protagonist is flung away from the reach of his towering father, allowing a coming-of-age drama to unfold in the wilderness.
Striking up an unlikely friendship with Spot – the primivative human that acts like a dog – Arlo begins to expand his horizons in every sense, crossing paths with remarkably friendly T-Rexes and other colorful personalities. The latest snippet from The Good Dinosaur has light-hearted humor in spades, and we’re intrigued to see how the dynamic between the leading characters pans out considering that Pixar and Disney replaced many of the voice actors mid-way through development.
Now, Raymond Ochoa, Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn,A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliott, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner and Jack Brigh complete the cast list for Peter Sohn’s The Good Dinosaur, which stomps into theaters in 3D and regular formats on November 25.
“The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
