Get To Know Your Ghostbusters With Four New Character Posters

Next summer, Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot arrives in theaters, to rival the sizeable roster of superhero outings, blockbuster reboots and sequels. The modernized take on the classic franchise is still shrouded in mystery, with the only scraps of unofficial plot details hitting the web months ago. While Feig intends to keep as many secrets hidden as possible - something he's struggled with while trying to keep cameos quiet - he has today splashed out, offering up a few crumbs of character info along with a quartet of posters for the spook busters.

Next summer, Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot arrives in theaters, to rival the sizeable roster of superhero outings, blockbuster reboots and sequels. The modernized take on the classic franchise is still shrouded in mystery, with the only scraps of unofficial plot details hitting the web months ago. While Feig intends to keep as many secrets hidden as possible – something he’s struggled with while trying to keep cameos quiet – he has today splashed out, offering up a few crumbs of character info along with a quartet of posters for the spook busters.

This batch comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s official still from the film, which cast Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones in an eerie green glow. Today’s crop has each of the paranormal investigators on their own – in fact, all of the posters debuted on four different outlets, where Feig relinquished the following character bio tidbits.

Wiig’s character, Erin Gilbert, he describes as a “Particle physicist, academic firebrand, spectral warrior.” McCarthy’s Abby Yates, a “Paranormal researcher, supernatural scientist, entity trapper.” McKinnon’s Jillian Holtzman, a “Nuclear engineer, munitions expert, proton wrangler.” Finally, the last member to join the gang is Jones’ Patty Tolan, who he dubs a “Ghost tracker, municipal historian, metaphysical commando.” That’s quite a complementary list, which shouldn’t come as a surprise when Feig is this enraptured by his cast.

Here’s what he told EW:

“They are four incredibly talented women, each with a unique voice and style of comedy. The fact that they meshed so well and complemented each other so well made this team of paranormal warriors a very interesting and fully-rounded group. The funniest people who come from sketch, stand-up, or just comedy, in general, work well together because the good ones know they are only as good as those they are playing off, against, and with. The set was a fun, supportive and creatively fertile environment.”

Check out all four of the posters in the gallery below, and prepare for the new wave of Ghostbusters when the film opens July 15, 2016.
