As Sony’s high-profile Ghostbusters reboot shoots in Boston, with Bridesmaids director Paul Feig at the helm, new details about the next generation of (all-female!) boogieman blasters have emerged. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Feig has seemingly leaked the names of all four leads in the 2016 pic.
“Okay, here you go,” Feig tweeted. “Erin Gilbert, Jillian Holtzmann, Abby Yates and Patty Tolan. Now you know even more.”

Feig declined to reveal which actors were playing each of the above characters, though it was previously revealed by Feig that Kate McKinnon is playing Holtzmann, and Melissa McCarthy’s nametag would suggest she’s playing Yates. That leaves Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones unaccounted for. IMDb accredits Wiig with the role of “Erin Gabler” and Jones with the part of Patty Tolan, so that would seem to clear up any remaining mystery.
In addition to that talented quartet, the Ghostbusters reboot stars Chris Hemsworth as their secretary, Andy Garcia as the mayor of New York City, Michael K. Williams as a character named Hawkins, Matt Walsh as a character named Rourke, Cecily Strong in an unknown role and Neil Casey as the main antagonist. Dan Aykroyd also has a cameo appearance set up, connecting the pic to the greater Ghostbusters universe.
Finally, the Boston Herald revealed some details on the plot, which are as follows:
Wiig and McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
Ghostbusters lands in theaters July 22, 2016.
