All signs point to Lionsgate unveiling some form of teaser trailer for its live-action Power Rangers reboot at San Diego Comic-Con, but until then, a series of photos have emerged from the show floor to whet your appetite in the meantime.
Arriving by way of ComicBook.com, these images take you up close and personal with the Rangers’ helmets, not to mention their indispensable Power Coins, the supernatural relics that bestow our fresh-faced teenagers with their abilities. In terms of the actual design, we know from previous photos that the visors are retractable, allowing Angel Grove’s finest to scope out their surroundings while safely housed up in their glittering suits.
[zergpaid]We shouldn’t have to wait too much longer before seeing those suits in action, of course, along with a potential peek at both Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks, who are attached to the roles of Zordon and Rita Repulsa, respectively.
As for the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, Lionsgate has cast a range of newcomers to spearhead its feature film, including Dacre Montgomery, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott and RJ Cyler. Most of those actors will be on hand during the film’s panel at SDCC, where we expect to get a better understanding of the core plot.
Power Rangers has been earmarked for release on March 24, 2017. We’ll be keeping tabs of Lionsgate’s live-action reboot all throughout SDCC 2016, so stay tuned.
