Guardians Of The Galaxy: Fantastic superhero science-fiction film about a group of unlikely heroes that come together to save the universe. Even the title just rolls off the tongue and feels right to say. Apparently not overseas in eastern territories though, as director James Gunn revealed via Twitter that Guardians Of The Galaxy will be known as… wait for it… you know what, this title is so absurd and hilarious it deserves to be typed out in its own line
Interplanetary Unusual Attacking Team
Wow… just imagine calling up a buddy and asking if they want to see a movie called Interplanetary Unusual Attacking Team. They’ll probably look at you like you’re off your meds. Sometimes it’s amazing how translations and different languages can affect words so much.
Reddit has also done some research and uncovered that under simplified characters the translation becomes Interstellar Different Commandos, which is still a mouthful of silliness, but at least it’s not freaking Interplanetary Unusual Attacking Team. Still though, what the hell was wrong with just putting Guardians Of The Galaxy on a poster?! Surely, even without the language barrier it will be obvious what the movie is about
Guardians Of The Galaxy/Interplanetary Unusual Attacking Team will be opening in China this weekend. I just hope all of these hilariously convoluted names don’t scare off the citizens over there from such an amazing movie.
