Now that production on Blumhouse’s Halloween reboot is finally underway, we expect news regarding the next entry in the enduring horror franchise to trickle in on a regular basis. Funny enough, it’s the aptly named Halloween Daily News that we have to thank for today’s helping.
In this case, it comes in the form of the latest round of casting. After all, the town of Haddonfield is going to need to be populated by people who Michael Myers can carve up, right? Fine, maybe some of them will survive, chief of which may be those making up the Strode family.
On that note, it’s worth mentioning that Jamie Lee Curtis will be reprising her role of Laurie Strode (remember: Resurrection is no longer canonical), with Judy Greer playing her daughter, Karen, and Andi Matichak rounding out the tribe as granddaughter Allyson. Call us crazy, but we suspect that if anyone is to be the final girl, it’s the youngest.
Anyway, the latest folks to have signed up are that of bodybuilder Rob Niter, who’ll play a member of the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, and Rhian Rees (The Lears), who’s playing a character named Dana. What’s more is that Niter himself recently teased his costume on Instagram.
Looking at that photographic evidence, we’d have to say that Mr. Niter looks pretty formidable, but that Michael Myers fellow is pretty damn superhuman himself. And if we’re to go with our gut, we’re assuming that nobody is safe.
Halloween arrives in theaters on October 19th.
