Han Solo Set Photos Reveal First Look At Chewbacca And Woody Harrelson’s Character

After a massive setback a few weeks ago, when directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were allegedly fired from the production, the upcoming Han Solo spinoff is now back on track with Ron Howard coming in to steer the ship and take their place. While we haven't yet had a look at any of the scenes that the director's now shooting, some snaps that were reportedly taken back when Miller and Lord were still helming the movie have leaked online today, and you can check them out in the gallery up above.

After a massive setback a few weeks ago, when directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were allegedly fired from the production, the upcoming Han Solo spinoff is now back on track with Ron Howard coming in to steer the ship and take their place. While we haven’t yet had a look at any of the scenes that the director’s now shooting, some snaps that were reportedly taken back when Miller and Lord were still helming the movie have leaked online today, and you can check them out in the gallery up above.

The images, though not great quality, give us another look at Alden Ehrenreich in costume as a younger Han Solo, as well as our first glimpse at Woody Harrelson’s character, Beckett. We still don’t know too much about him, other than that he’s Han’s criminal though ultimately good-hearted mentor, but we can at least confirm now that he’ll have hair in the movie – so there’s that.

This is also the first photo we’ve seen of Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca in the spinoff, who’s taken over the role now from original actor Peter Mayhew. The woman the trio can be seen talking to is possibly Emilia Clarke, though it’s hard to tell from the framing and resolution of the image.

In addition to the photos, TMZ have also shared a short but intriguing video from the set which shows off some kind of alien museum. Again, it’s hard to say exactly what’s going on in it, but feel free to take to the comments section and begin speculating.

Originally, Han Solo was expected to arrive in cinemas on May 25th, but with the issues it’s been facing lately, we wouldn’t be surprised if it was pushed back – though Disney does seem intent on keeping it there. Either way, for now, the May date remains and as we inch closer to release, we should start to see something in the way of official photos/footage in the not too distant future.
