As we’ve heard before, Disney is currently testing just about every young actor out there for their upcoming Star Wars prequel, which will feature a young Han Solo. Set to be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, we’re now hearing that the studio has narrowed down its list to just several actors.
According to THR, the shortlist includes Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Reynor and Taron Egerton, though Variety notes that Blake Jenner and Jack O’Connell are also still in the running for the role of the iconic character.
We don’t know who the frontrunner is at the moment, but we imagine that Disney will be making a final decision in the very near future, especially since Han will apparently cameo in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story before his solo film hits.
[zergpaid]Frankly, we really don’t have an issue with any of the names here, but if we had to choose we’d go with Taron Egerton. If you’ve seen him in Kingsman: The Secret Service you’ll know just how talented he is, and he certainly has the charisma and swagger to pull off a part like this. He’d obviously have enormous shoes to fill given that Han Solo is one of the most beloved characters of all-time, but we think he’d be able to do a pretty admirable job.
While we wait on a decision from the House of Mouse, head on down to the comments section and let us know who you’d like to see play a young Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff, which is due to hit theatres on May 25, 2018.
