Guy Ritchie has been flying under the radar lately (his last film was Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows back in 2011), but we’ll finally get to see the helmer’s next project in the summer of 2015. After numerous date changes, Warner Bros. has settled on an August 2015 release for The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which reintroduces the 1964 TV series to a new generation.
New official images from the spy blockbuster appeared in Empire’s latest issue, and you can check them out below. The accompanying article didn’t offer much by way of plot details, but the movie will find two spies (Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill) forced to team up to combat a shared threat.
Here’s WB’s official synopsis:
Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.
Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby), Jared Harris (The Quiet Ones), Alicia Vikander (Anna Karenina) and Hugh Grant all co-star in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which opens August 14th, 2015.
