While Chad Stahelski and the writer’s room behind John Wick: Chapter 4 left the conclusion of the latest entry in the Keanu Reeves-led action franchise open-ended for fans to make their own minds about how the story ended, let’s take the closing moments of the film at face value for a moment, and presume that the Baba Yaga finally met his end. This is all for the sake of lending credence to this objectively amusing fan theory about a possible next entry in the franchise, which is both hilarious and something that has us throwing money at our computer screens.

The community in the ever-entertaining r/FanTheories always manages to deliver some outright whacky, or often thought-provoking hot takes on the biggest movies and television shows, and this John Wick: Chapter 5 theory is no different. u/HuntingTheWumpus pitches a supernatural turn for a theoretical fifth film, in which John fights his way through hell and comes up against all of his adversaries from the previous movies, as something of a victory lap for the franchise – before he comes across the first movie’s big bad, Viggo, who told him he would see him in hell:

When all is said and done, the author of the theory suggests that Wick would finally reunite with his late wife and puppy, who would somehow pluck him from the depths of hell, and the little family would then go on to live happily ever after. As campy as the whole idea is, we’d be lying if we said we wouldn’t be lining up to see this in theaters on day one.

Whatever a seemingly inevitable John Wick: Chapter 5 may end up looking like, director Chad Stahelski has promised that it won’t end up being a cash grab
