Adam Green’s grossly mutated swamp monster hasn’t been seen or heard of in almost a decade, leading some to ponder over the future of his cult Hatchet franchise. However, in only a few weeks’ time, Green and the folks at Dark Sky will be cordially inviting viewers back to Honey Island Swamp for another unforgettable night of bloodshed, chaos and supernatural hijinks.

Directing from his own script, Adam Green has also vowed to deliver a satisfying, backwoods thrill ride, and we’re only a few weeks’ away from discovering if his passion project is up to snuff. In the meantime, below you’ll find two new action shots to pore over – one of Crowley wading into the murky bayou; the other of the film’s stars butting heads – which makes a nice compliment to yesterday’s brutal trailer.

Because what’s a good old-fashioned horror flick without some human vs. human drama to offset the supernatural tension? Full details on Crowley‘s tongue-in-cheek setup can be found below:

Set a decade after the events of the series’ first three films, Victor Crowley reunites Hatchet mainstays Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th 7 – X’s Jason Voorhees) and Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) for an all-new, horrifying journey into the haunted, blood-drenched bayou.

In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.

Victor Crowley will officially slice and dice its way onto Blu-ray, DVD and VOD on February 6th. And if you’re wanting to secure your copy ahead of time, you’ll be happy to hear that Amazon is now accepting pre-orders.
