Riley Keough is an actress on the fast-track to stardom. After stepping foot onto George Miller’s ravaged wasteland for Mad Max: Fury Road, Keough turned heads and raised eyebrows with her compelling, nuanced performance in The Girlfriend Experience, Starz’s escort drama that is currently gearing up for a second season sans Christine Reade.
But even if Riley Keough’s dalliance with The Girlfriend Experience is essentially over, the star has locked down a handful of enticing roles long into 2018. The Discovery springs to mind as a notable example, while there’s also a reunion with TGE‘s Steven Soderbergh on the cards thanks to NASCAR heist drama Logan Lucky. According to The Hollywood Reporter, we can now add The House That Jack Built to Keough’s bustling slate.
Hot off the presses from the ongoing 2017 Berlin Film Festival, THR has confirmed that Riley Keough and Sofie Grabol (The Killing) have landed key roles in the upcoming thriller. Helmed by provocative Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier, The House That Jack Built orbits around Matt Dillon‘s titular serial killer, who longs to finish his self-proclaimed ‘masterpiece’ while eluding capture throughout the ’70s and early ’80s. Keough and Sofie Grabol will play two women that have the unfortunate pleasure of crossing paths with Jack, and we understand that von Trier is still casting the net for an additional two female characters. Swiss actor Bruno Ganz is also on board as Verge, a “mysterious man who engages Jack in a recurring conversation about his actions and thoughts.”
The House That Jack Built is set to shoot from March of this year ahead of an expected release sometime in 2018. We’ll keep you posted if and when any further casting announcements are made.
