The countdown is on for the end of Harrison Ford‘s time as Indiana Jones, with the fifth and final film in the Indiana Jones franchise, Dial of Destiny, set to cap off the actor’s long, illustrious career as the whip-happy action hero.
And what a career it’s been; from hypnosis to aliens to medieval knights, Indy’s encountered quite a bit over the years; exactly how the franchise’s staple stroke of magic realism will manifest in Dial of Destiny remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure; the film will have plenty of time to introduce it.
What is the runtime of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny?
If you’re hitting the theaters for Indy’s swan song, make sure you don’t drink much water beforehand; Dial of Destiny clocks in as the longest Indiana Jones film ever, boasting a beefy runtime of two hours and 34 minutes. Its closest competitor is Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, which runs two hours and eight minutes, while the remaining films rest in the ballpark between an hour and 50 minutes and just over two hours.
It may not be an overly egregious runtime difference, but two and a half hours still makes Dial of Destiny one hefty watch by Indiana Jones standards, and, frankly, we’re not complaining; if this is going to be the last bit of time we spend with Indy in any fresh capacity, it’s only fitting that we get a franchise-high amount of it for such a final acquaintance.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will release to theaters on June 30.
