It looks like we finally get to sneak a peek at Twentieth Century Fox‘s upcoming adaptation of the novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The film, directed by Timur Bekmambetov and produced by Tim Burton, is shaping up to be one of this summer’s most anticipated movies.
Bekmambetov, who directed the furiously frenzied adaptation of Wanted, is definitely taking a page from Burton’s book as the images below, courtesy of Bloody Disgusting, showcase a dark, foggy atmosphere. The setting is very evocative of many other Burton films, but you won’t hear me complaining about that. I’m currently about to finish the novel that the film is based on and if the movie is half as good as the book is, then we’re all in for an exceptionally strange 3D treat.
Check out the images below along with a synopsis of the story. Be sure to go see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter when it is released on June 22nd, 2012, starring Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rufus Sewell, Jimmi Simpson, and Alan Tudyk.
The film explores the secret life of our greatest president, and the untold history that shaped our nation. As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln witnesses the shocking death of his mother, leading him on a path to an ongoing war – and ultimately to the presidency – he chronicles in a hidden diary. The journal reveals the incredible story of a clandestine warrior who never stopped fighting for the country he led and the people he loved.
