Long-time fans of the gleeful street racing saga will no doubt remember Race Wars as the event in which Paul Walker’s Brian has to prove his worth to Dom and the rest of the Toretto crew. Taking place on a stretch of desert — filmed at the San Bernardino International Airport — the event brought together the hottest cars in the business for a bout of one on one racing, with pink slips and reputation on the line.

With James Wan behind the lens, Furious 7 will see the crew haunted by the sins of London, as Jason Statham’s Ian Shaw seeks revenge for the death of his younger brother. It may be a simple set-up, but from the footage released thus far, it looks as if Wan and Co. aren’t pulling any punches when it comes to the sequel’s special effects and stunts. Rounding out the cast are Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Kurt Russell, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Djimon Hounsou, Lucas Black, and John Brotherton.

Toretto will reunite the crew once more when Furious 7 screeches into theaters on April 3. For now, let us know whether you’re excited for the latest installment in Universal’s franchise using the comments.
