Avengers: Infinity War may have gone home empty-handed from last night’s Academy Awards, but Chris Evans still had his brief time in the spotlight when the Captain America actor sprung into action with a well-received display of chivalry.
The moment came when Regina King got up to accept her award for Best Supporting Actress for her turn in If Beale Street Could Talk. When it quickly became clear that the star of the new Watchmen series was struggling a little with her dress, Evans jumped in to help King get up the steps. It was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but evidently, Evans’ behavior warmed the hearts of quite a few viewers, who took to Twitter to commend the Avengers: Endgame star for his actions:

Even when King was in the process of making her acceptance speech, some couldn’t help but notice Evans’ beaming face as he saw the actress’s mother stare up at the stage with pride:

The 91st Academy Awards was a ceremony packed with MCU stars, including Evans, Paul Rudd, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson and Chadwick Boseman. Better yet, Marvel Studios also managed to take home its first ever Oscars, with Black Panther becoming the first movie in the history of superhero cinema to nab as many as three Academy Awards.
So, despite some fans not being too happy with Avenger: Infinity War losing in the Visual Effects category, the evening can overall be considered a success for the Marvel franchise. And regardless of whether the studio has any further Oscars in its future, you can expect Evans and the MCU to continue to triumph at the box office when Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26th, 2019.
