‘I’ve had some informal conversations’: The most unfortunate top-billed star in Marvel Studios history is better off not returning

Things haven't exactly gone to plan so far.

The ignominy of being the name listed first in the credits of the worst-reviewed project Marvel Studios has ever been involved with has to fall to somebody, and unless something drastic changes, that unwanted accolade will be hanging around the neck of Inhumans star Anson Mount for some time to come.

While the Multiverse Saga has seen the likes of Eternals and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania do the unthinkable and become the franchise’s first feature films to secure a Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes, something is going to have to go drastically wrong for any movie or Disney Plus series to sink lower than Inhumans‘ diabolical 11 percent.

On the plus side, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law holds the MCU’s lowest user rating for reasons that are entirely self-explanatory, but it sounds as though Mount still has eyes on another potential comeback. Sure, he shocked everyone by popping up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but his revelation to Radio Times indicates that having his head exploded from the outside in may not be the last we see of him.

“If the answer was yes I wouldn’t be able to tell you – but the answer is no, so I can. I’ve had some informal conversations with the powers at Marvel and it’s a conversation, but they’ve got their current phase that they need to do. I don’t know, we’ll see. I would love to jump back into the cowl and do it again. I love Black Bolt as a character.”

Ms. Marvel retconning Kamala Khan as a mutant furthered the agenda that Kevin Feige secretly holds a burning disdain for Inhumans everywhere, so maybe you shouldn’t hold your breath in the hopes that Mount mounts a third comeback as Black Bolt.
