The original script for the film is notorious for having only one line of dialogue, though whether more has been added or not is unknown at this point. Either way it’s sure to be an exciting film, with Gyllenhaal set to go up against Gary Oldman, who will be taking on the role of the villain. And then of couse there’s Amber Heard, who will provide the eye candy.

All things considered, I’m looking forward to Motor City. Albert Hughes recently gave us The Book Of Eli, which I really enjoyed and Gyllenhaal is slowly starting to prove himself as an action hero (see Source Code). While I can care less for Heard, Oldman’s involvement is another major plus, especially because he’s playing a villain, something he excels at.

Though I was excited to see Cooper in the lead role, as I think he’s quite talented and am eagerly awaiting his rise to the A-list, Gyllenhaal is an apt replacement and will likely deliver a strong performance in what sounds like a very promising film. After all, Hughes dropped Akira so he could head to Motor City, it must be a worthy project, right?
