With the release of the film’s first teaser trailer scheduled for later today, the excitement surrounding Sam Mendes’ Spectre is palpable. All of the marketing material that has surfaced from the film’s alpine production, not to mention the star-studded cast, indicate that the sequel has every potential of toppling Skyfall – itself a lucrative success back in 2012.
And much like its predecessor, MGM has today announced plans to release Spectre in IMAX this November, meaning you’ll be able to enjoy Daniel Craig’s globetrotting adventure on the largest screen possible. In a statement, Gary Barber, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, MGM touched upon the reason behind the deal and his own excitement to bring the anticipated follow-up to global audiences using the power of the large-screen format.
“We are thrilled to once again partner with IMAX for the next installment in the James Bond franchise. This is a spectacular way to deliver a film as anticipated as ‘Spectre’ to global audiences.”
With Craig returning as the shaken-not-stirred agent, Spectre‘s cast will be rounded out by Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux and, more recently, Stephanie Sigman. That’s a total of three Bond girls in Mendes’ sequel, and it’ll be interesting to see how their roles pan out when the final, completed package makes its way onto the silver screen.
Stay tuned to We Got This Covered when we’ll have full coverage of the film’s maiden trailer, which is due to infiltrate the interwebs at 4:45pm PT/7:45pm ET. Spectre will make its debut on November 6.
