Digital Spy has reported that James Franco has left what was to be his Broadway debut in David Cromer‘s adaptation of Tennessee Williams‘ play, Sweet Bird Of Youth. However, Nicole Kidman is still signed on to play the lead of Princess Kosmonopolis. Franco, who recently re-joined the ABC soap General Hospital and is reportedly making a behind the scenes documentary about his time on that daytime soap, may have had too much on his plate.
Franco has had a very busy schedule of late, currently working on his return to daytime TV, while playing the Wizard in Sam Raimi’s upcoming film, Oz: The Great and Powerful alongside Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams. He is also premiering his biopic of the late actor Sal Mineo, entitled Sal, at the Venice Film Festival, with some other projects showing at the Toronto International Film Festival.
With all the aforementioned work on James Franco‘s plate, it’s understandable as to why he made the decision to pull out of the play.
