You’ll probably want to file this one under the countless rumors starting to surround Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman as Think McFly Think is reporting that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the latest actor who’s in consideration for the part of Batman in the upcoming film from Warner Bros. It was only a few days ago that we heard names like Josh Brolin, Jon Hamm and Ryan Gosling being tossed around for the part and now, Morgan has been added to the list.
We’ve heard that the studio wants an older Batman, so Morgan would certainly fit in given his age is 47. Plus, he has worked with Snyder before as he had a role in the director’s 2009 film, Watchmen.
All we know right now, or what we’re hearing from TMT, is that the actor is taking a meeting with Snyder to discuss the role. If true, this in no way means that he’s a lock for the part, it only means that Snyder is simply interested. In fact, even if the two are taking a meeting, it probably doesn’t mean much at all. You can bet that Snyder is currently meeting with every major actor between the ages of 40 and 50 and Morgan is probably one of many candidates.
Admittedly, I think Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a solid actor who doesn’t get enough recognition and I wouldn’t necessarily be against him donning the cape and cowl. Do I think it will happen? Probably not. I feel like they want to go for someone a bit more high profile than him but if by some stroke of luck Morgan does get chosen, I wouldn’t object.
