Jeremy Piven has been reeling under a stream of accusations of sexual harassment and assault over the past few weeks. Earlier in the month, reality TV star Ariane Bellamar explained how the actor sexually assaulted her during the filming of Entourage, cornering her in his trailer where he, according to Bellamar, “forcibly fondled my breasts & bum.”
This was followed by Longmire actress Cassidy Freeman writing on Instagram: “I know what you did and attempted to do to me when I was far too young. THAT I know. And you know it too. Unless there were so many of us, that you can’t remember. I hope from now on, you keep it in your pants and you never get to do it again.”
Now, in the most shocking account yet, Anastasia Taneie, a woman who worked as an extra on Entourage, has come forth with allegations that the actor “forcibly pushed her up against a wall in a dark hallway, grabbing her breasts and genitals, during a break from filming.”
As with previous allegations, Piven has denied that the incident ever happened, In a statement provided by his lawyers, he said: “Let me be absolutely clear, this simply did not happen. I would never force myself on a woman. I cannot speak as to why a person would create a story like this.”
To put it frankly, I don’t believe a single word he says here. As more and more women come forward, we’re starting to see a pattern of behaviour from Piven and there’s just been too many allegations at this point to think that the actor is completely clean and in the clear here. That’s not to say that every story we’ve heard about him is 100% true, but it’s pretty apparent that he wasn’t always behaving in a respectful and professional manner while on set.
What do you think, though? Are these allegations against Jeremy Piven to be believed? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the usual place.
