Watch: Joker Promo Confirms New Trailer Coming Wednesday

I don't know about you, but I've actually lost count of how many times I've viewed the Joker trailer at this point. Yes, I'm well aware of how stubborn purists are put off by how this film won't adapt any sort of comic book or graphic novel, but I can't help being intrigued by this original take on the Clown Prince of Crime as developed by director Todd Phillips and his crew.

To be quite honest, I wasn’t entirely sure if a second trailer would be rolled out before opening weekend, as this picture isn’t exactly a summer blockbuster. After all, it’s quite comparable to Taxi Driver and has been slapped with an R-rating. On the one hand, I could see Phillips wanting to hold his cards close to the vest, but on the other, this is a big release for Warner Bros. as a studio.

To my surprise and delight, yet another video package is indeed arriving this Wednesday, August 28th. Believe it or not, the confirmation came via several brief clips posted to the official Joker Instagram page (which have been compiled in the video found at the top of this article). You probably noticed some cryptic writing quickly flashing in each exhibit and, as it turns out, they come together to form a collage which you can view below.

Right now, we can’t be certain of whether any of the footage shown here today will be included in the second trailer, so it’s recommended you forego waiting and check out what’s been presented. Most of the stuff understandably focuses on Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker/Arthur Fleck, but Robert De Niro’s Murray Franklin has also been included. Though I can’t choose a favorite snippet, I’m left wondering if Arthur found a new entrance to Narnia while journeying inside his refrigerator.

Joker arrives in theaters on October 4th. That said, you’d be well-advised to keep watching this space, because we’ll have the new trailer for you once it drops in a few days.
