While it may not have topped the ever-growing list of must-see films in 2016, Disney fired Zootopia directly into the limelight only a few short weeks ago when the all-new animation welcomed aboard Luther star Idris Elba, Octavia Spencer and J.K. Simmons.
Now, with little over four months to go until release, the House of Mouse has today debuted a new poster for the film that sheds light on the core dynamic between Jason Bateman’s Nick Wild and Ginnifer Goodwin’s officer Judy Hopps. Eager to prove her worth in salt to the rest of the force, it is the latter anthropomorphic animal that takes point to crack a seemingly impossible case, though Hopps is forced to coordinate with Jason Bateman’s smart-mouthed schemer to do so.
[zerg]Directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore – whose previous credits include Wreck-It Ralph – perhaps the most intriguing element of Zootopia is that it takes place in a world completely devoid of humans. And so, in our absence, the animal kingdom has manufactured grand cities of its own, with the title metropolis acting as once of the core hubs.
Joining Elba, Spencer, Simmons, Bateman and Goodwin in the voice booth are Tommy Chong, Nate Torrence, Jenny Slate, Firefly alum Alan Tudyk, Raymond Persi, Bonny Hunt and Don Lake.
The mighty doors of Zootopia will swing open to moviegoers worldwide when Disney debuts its latest animation on March 4, 2016.
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.
