Story Details For Jurassic Park 4 Reveal A New Concept And New Dinosaurs

The story of Jurassic Park 4 is already shaping up to be one of disrupt and intrigue, following Universal's decision to put the release date back another year. With a Summer 2015 slot now in place, this has allowed the writers time to fully craft the background and story. Indeed, this is where the intrigue lies, as so far there's been next to nothing reported on what the story will include.

The story of Jurassic Park 4 is already shaping up to be one of disrupt and intrigue, following Universal’s decision to put the release date back another year. With a Summer 2015 slot now in place, this has allowed the writers time to fully craft the background and story. Indeed, this is where the intrigue lies, as so far there’s been next to nothing reported on what the story will include.

Sam Neill recently commented that it’s going to be a reboot, a “total rejig” in his words which were followed by his admission that he will not be appearing in the fourth instalment. Other rumours flying about have made reference to Bryce Dallas Howard making an appearance as well. There’s still nothing confirmed on any human cast members, but as for the dinosaurs themselves, there could be a whole slew of new beasties lined up.

JoBlo have revealed exclusive story details from a source, which while not entirely unexpected, are enough to whet one’s appetite:

  • It will be shot in 3D.
  • Will be set on Isla Nublar, the island from the first film, where a fully functional theme park is in place attracting 10 million visitors a year.
  • The park is described as being like Sea World with its own Lagoon. Concept art (which sadly isn’t online) highlights the Isla Nublar Lagoon, showing a huge underwater dinosaur leaping from the water catching a shark in its teeth.
  • This is said to be similar to shows at Seaworld, except this time it features aquatic beasts.
  • The typically terrifying velociraptors will be “tamed” and used to help fight the film’s main baddy, which is said to be a dinosaur not yet seen in any of the films thus far.

The notion of a 3D sequel is unsurprising, especially considering that Jurassic Park had a 3D theatrical release this last year. An underwater dinosaur sounds like a fresh take for the franchise, and following this summer’s Pacific Rim, could be just what audiences are after.

What do you make of these proposed ideas for the sequel? Excited? Let us know in the comments below.
