In the fallout of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Henry Cavill’s all-powerful Man of Steel has spent most, if not all of Justice League‘s ongoing promotional campaign waiting in the wings.
That’s not to say that Superman won’t have a major role to play in the DC ensemble movie, far from it; only that Warner’s marketing blitz has doubled down on Cavill’s surviving allies: Batman, Cyborg, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Ezra Miller’s whip-smart Scarlett Speedster, The Flash. But judging by Henry Cavill’s latest Instagram post (via ComicBook), the towering actor has taken matters into his own hands, after uploading a series of selfies/photos from the Art of DC – Dawn of the Superheroes exhibition in Paris.
Now, you may be wondering why an innocent post on social media has been deemed newsworthy, but flick through to the final image and you’ll see that Henry Cavill is standing underneath a DC shrine dedicated to Green Lantern. First thing’s first: it’s by no means a confirmation that the DC hero will feature in Justice League – Warner Bros. has been keeping things under wraps when it comes to potential cameos – but it does present some interesting food for thought.
Per Instagram:
If nothing else, it’s enough to add fuel to the fire. Since Justice League rolled out its suitably epic trailer back at CinemaCon 2017, we’ve had fan art and unfounded reports claiming Green Lantern will feature in the November tentpole in some capacity. Nothing’s been confirmed just yet of course, but we’ll be bringing you all the latest as this story unfolds.
On November 17th, Zack Snyder will assemble DC’s finest roster of heroes, but will it have room for Green Lantern? We’ll find out when Justice League lights up the silver screen.
