Like it or lump it, Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon’s hotly-contested Justice League is now available on digital platforms.
Its arrival has brought forth a slew of special features, too, including a featurette which shows Snyder orchestrating Wonder Woman’s last-minute rescue, not to mention that scene of Alfred coming into contact with the Man of Steel. “He said you’d come. Let’s just hope you’re not too late.”
Yes, Batman’s right-hand man was actually speaking to Superman – not Green Lantern, sadly – in the full Justice League trailer, and if you’re curious, the film’s pair of post-credits scenes are now available to watch online in glorious 4K.
The first is more of a light-hearted stinger than anything else, and plays on the ultimate DC fan question: who would win in a race between Superman and the Scarlet Speedster? Granted, Justice League‘s endgame bonus scene doesn’t provide an answer, but it’s a fun extra nonetheless.
Meanwhile, the post-credits scene is much more serious, as it shows Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) escaping a high-security prison in order to join forces with Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) and form a league of their own. That villainous super-team will presumably go on to become the Legion of Doom, which includes such A-list baddies as Bizarro, Riddler, Scarecrow, Black Manta (Aquaman) and the android known as Brainiac.
There’s currently no mention of Warner’s sequel plans for Justice League, which isn’t all that surprising when you consider that WB suffered a pretty sizeable write-down no thanks to the movie’s massive budget ($350 million, according to reports) and prolonged reshoots.
Be that as it may, if you’re holding out for the physical version, you’ll be pleased to note that Justice League is poised to swoop onto Blu-ray and DVD on March 13th – March 26th for those across the pond – and can now be pre-ordered on Amazon.
