In a recent interview, Let Me In star Kodi Smit-McPhee spoke to us briefly about his next film. He told us that he’ll be starring in The Congress, a sci-fi, futuristic film, based on the novel The Futurological Congress by Stanislaw Lem (the man behind Solaris). Ari Folman will be directing and Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Harvey Keitel and Paul Giamatti are all attached. According to Kodi, the film is still in rehearsal phase.
Folman brought us the very well received Waltz With Bashir and it looks like he has assembled quite the cast for this one. Lem’s source material looks interesting and my curiosity is certainly piqued. I’m looking forward to hearing more on this one.
Kodi was quoted as saying:
I’m also doing a film called The Congress which is just in the rehearsal process and I think next week we’ll be shooting. I don’t really know how to explain it, I think it’s sci-fi and futuristic.
What do you think?
