Speaking with IGN a few months after Fantastic Beasts‘ premiere, the star said: “I’m sure there will be some other version of it; I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime – we’ve already got a few more.”

In a recent profile run by GQ (per IGN), Elijah Wood admits to his surprise over the announcement of new Lord of the Rings movies. And while he acknowledges that the main goal is to earn money, he hopes the studios manage to retain that sense of reverence for Tolkien’s creation, just like Peter Jackson did.
“It came out of a passion for these books and wanting to see them realized,” He said of Jackson’s trilogy, where he played Frodo Baggins. “And I hope that that is ultimately what will drive everything forward with whatever these subsequent movies are. I just hope that it’s the same motivating factor at its core.”
