Arnold Schwarzenegger had a cool time playing Mr. Freeze in DC’s frost-bitten bomb Batman & Robin, but will he be ice enough to drop by the MCU sometime in the future? That’s what we found out today, along with the sly announcement that another Marvel Phase Five movie is finally getting somewhere, one that — *pretends to be shocked* — has already courted controversy. Last but not least, we’re starting to wonder… Is there such a thing as the Eternals curse?
Hot on the heels of Deadpool 3, another — much more divisive — Marvel Studios movie has apparently entered production
Deadpool 3 already officially starting shooting earlier this week, and now we’re learning that another Marvel Studios production just started shooting. Specifically, it seems photography on Thunderbolts is under way ahead of schedule, thanks to the film’s cinematographer letting it slip. In contrast to the Ryan Reynolds threequel, however, the honorary Black Widow sequel isn’t getting quite so much positive pre-production press due to some bad publicity that’s been dogging it. But, hey, it’s got a full year to turn that around before it hits theaters in July 2024.
Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t ruling out following his son-in-law and oldest frenemy into the MCU someday
His son-in-law Chris Pratt and old rival-turned-pal Sylvester Stallone are already part of the universe, thanks to the Guardians of the Galaxy films, but the question is: Will Arnold Schwarzenegger himself ever deign the MCU with his presence? Remarkably, the star of Netflix’s new spy comedy series FUBAR is open to the idea. Does this mean those rumors about him playing the villain in Don Cheadle’s Armor Wars movie might actually be onto something? Imagine if Arnold ended up redeeming himself for Mr. Freeze by playing an epic Marvel villain nigh on 30 years later. Hey, stranger things have happened.
Avengers: Endgame director swoops in to save an Eternals star’s embarrassing bomb
We know all about the Quantumania curse, but is the Eternals curse a thing too? On the same day that director Chloe Zhao’s career takes an unexpected turn — causing angry fans to demand that Kevin Feige pays her reparations for causing supposed damage to her career — we’ve discovered that Avengers: Endgame director Joe Russo will step into save one star of the Phase Four film’s infamous flop of a TV series. While Russo exec produced the first season of Richard Madden’s Citadel spy show, he’s set to roll up his sleeves and direct the whole second season himself, likely hoping to save what could end up being an enormously costly misfire for Prime Video.
More of the latest Marvel news will storm its way to us soon — for instance, are we dreaming or is this X-Men icon teasing a return in Deadpool 3?
