Marvel‘s Multiverse Saga is only just starting to heat up, but one surprising cross-franchise crossover has got us wondering if the MCU has already gone too far with the all-cameo craziness. Especially as an unforeseen upshot of this particular surprise comeback means that Marvel Studios is sticking its nose up at a beloved favorite from Netflix‘s defunct Defenders universe once more. Meanwhile, Secret Invasion may have given up its secrets as early as last fall.
Somehow, a 20-year-old Marvel franchise that barely managed to bring home $200 million has returned
Not every Marvel franchise had the good fortune of the MCU, but Fox’s Daredevil universe, which comprised 2003’s infamous Ben Affleck movie and its box office dud of a spinoff Elektra, stands as the least lucrative of them all. That’s why it’s rather surprising that, in this time of near dire straits for the MCU, at least one star from this long-gone and unlamented cinematic universe is returning for Deadpool 3. It looks like the Ryan Reynolds threequel really is trying to upstage Doctor Strange 2, including finding even more unlikely guest stars than Black Bolt from Inhumans.
Jennifer Garner’s Elektra comeback means yet another Netflix Daredevil favorite is still left out in the cold
Yes, the Deadpool 3 returnee in question is obviously Jennifer Garner, who is reprising her role as Elektra Natchios against all the odds. Honestly, her involvement likely has more to do with her pre-established working relationship with both Reynolds and director Shawn Levy on Netflix’s The Adam Project than anything else. And yet it’s tragic that Garner’s casting is coming at the cost of another Netflix star fans are much more keen to see return to the MCU.
Despite calls going back years, we’ve still got no word on Elodie Yung returning as her Elektra in Daredevil: Born Again. Apparently, there’s only room for one Elektra in this franchise. But did Marvel pick the right one?
Secret Invasion may have already given its biggest twist away in the strangest way possible
Secret Invasion viewers are still reeling from the (latest) shocking death in the ongoing Disney Plus show’s third episode, even if few are really believing that this is the last time we’ve seen a certain Game of Thrones icon in the Marvel universe. Well, these theorists may be right, going by what may be a major revelation hidden in the most unexpected place. The true fate of Emilia Clarke in the MCU just might have already been unveiled in a seemingly innocuous official Marvel upload posted last fall. Stay tuned Wednesdays for more of the series, but it’s just possible its secrets are already out there.
