A globe-trotting adventure is afoot in this latest batch of stills for Christopher McQuarrie’s upcoming high-octane actioner, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
Arriving on the eve of the sequel’s release, the screenshots allow us to go up close and personal with some of the film’s other stunt sequences, after we got an in-depth look at Tom Cruise’s daring plane stint. There’s plenty to get excited about, too, with Cruise’s leading agent Ethan Hunt hopping from London and Tower Bridge to the streets of Vienna. It’s the latter European city that will play host to a blistering motorcycle chase, and you can check out a behind-the-scenes glimpse of said sequence using the featurette below.
Of course, Rogue Nation‘s true crowd pleaser is arriving in the from Cruise’s plane stunt. Because why settle for the sky-scrapping height of the Burj Khalifa (2,700ft) when you can really push the boundary by hanging onto an Airbus A400M from 5,000 feet?
Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin, and Sean HarrisĀ complete the cast, with the latter slipping into the shoes of the film’s chief villain.
Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation will launch into theaters on July 31.
With the IMF disbanded, and Ethan (Tom Cruise) out in the cold, the team now faces off against a network of highly skilled special agents, the Syndicate. These highly trained operatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.
