Sending the boys on a mission to Miami, the bumbling duo are on the hunt to sabotage a drugs ploy that has resulted in dangerous and illicit product surfacing in their home town. We can just imagine the ‘this time, it’s personal’ slogans adorning the marketing material in the build-up to release.

Remaining true to the formula of the original – it did bag Universal $154 million at the worldwide box office, after all – this new trailer for Ride Along 2 will read like familiar territory for those who have seen Tim Story’s 2014 actioner, which didn’t win a lot of fans in critics circles. Such a response has in no way dampened Hart, Ice Cube and Story’s enthusiasm for the follow-up, which has also drafted in the likes of Ken Jeong, Olivia Munn, Tika Sumpter, Benjamin Bratt, and Sherri Shepherd.

Ride Along 2 has been pegged for launch on January 15, 2016. That doesn’t inspire confidence, considering that January has long been the month where studios offload projects that aren’t tracking to do the big numbers, though we imagine that the star power of Ice Cube and Hart ought to be enough to ensure the sequel finds an audience.
