John Luessenhop’s follow up to Tobe Hooper’s famous slasher film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre recently released an attention-grabbing teaser poster which claims “Evil Wears Many Faces,” but what about the man wearing those faces?
Thanks to Shock Till You Drop, we have our very first look at Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw 3D in the film’s first still.
While we don’t actually get to see the frontal view of Leatherface (Dan Yeager), his imposing figure still strikes a tad bit of fear while lumbering towards the warehouse in front of him. Looks like a meatpacking plant to me, the dead giveaway being “Meats” plastered on the side, showing a nice little nod back to Hooper’s original.
Hopefully Luessenhop can deliver some memorable scenes akin to Leatherface meat-hooking a victim in grisly fashion, as the still below hints at what looming danger awaits our unsuspecting characters.
Texas Chainsaw 3D will see a young girl named Heather (Alexandra Daddario) inherit an estate from a grandmother she never knew she had, dragging along some victims – I mean friends – to uncover her hidden past. Little does she know, something horrific and dangerous is lurking in the dark basement areas, turning what should have been a quiet vacation into an all out struggle for survival.
Luessenhop’s massacre also stars Tania Raymonde, Trey Songz, Scott Eastwood, Bill Moseley, Richard Riehle, and Gunnar Hansen.
As we get closer to Texas Chainsaw 3D‘s January 4th, 2013 release date, expect a more revealing snapshot of the chainsaw wielding lunatic to pop up for our enjoyment, but until then, let’s consider the below image a chilling start.
What do you guys think though? Will Texas Chainsaw 3D will be a proper old-school slasher revamp? Or will it fall victim to such rekindlings as Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday The 13th.
