Let’s hope Taylor Swift isn’t in ‘Deadpool 3,’ because she’s a curse that only appears in terrible movies

Keep her out of the multiverse.

Even though all the set photos we’ve seen so far from Deadpool 3 have revolved around the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest foul-mouthed recruit venturing into the 20th Century Fox timeline with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Swifties are still holding out hope that their overlord will make a surprise appearance.

It’s not just some flight of fancy plucked out of thin air, either; Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively are very close friends with Taylor Swift, and they shower adulation on each other whenever the opportunity arises, while the actor sported a t-shirt in the first Deadpool referencing her cats, and the singer once cosplayed as the Merc with a Mouth, so it’s only natural that fans would put two and two together and hope for the best.

However, based on Swift’s filmography, the worst thing that could possibly happen to Deadpool 3 is having her swing by, seeing as every feature she touches seems to be a disaster in one way or another. Star-studded anthology Valentine’s Day landed a measly 18 percent Rotten Tomatoes score, YA fantasy The Giver vanished without a trace at the box office, with Cats and Amsterdam both ranking individually as one of the biggest bombs in history that collectively conspired to lose somewhere in the region of $200 million.

Admittedly, her list of credits isn’t extensive, but it’s nonetheless notable enough to raise an eyebrow or two at the prospect of the critical and commercial poison applying her bespoke talents to one of the most hotly-anticipated comic book adaptations on the horizon.

Reynolds agreed he’d love to get her involved, but for the sake of our sanity, let’s hope he doesn’t.
