Mark Millar, creator of Wanted and Kick-Ass, has taken to Facebook to tease fans about another long, long, LONG gestating adaptation.
Nemesis has been floating around for years now with various figures attached at different stages, and through a sly post to his social media hub, Millar has kickstarted that craze again.
For those who are unaware, the comic revolves around a philanthropic billionaire who uses his technological prowess and bags of cash to fight for what’s right! And what’s right to him is pretty much pursuing every violent and sordid whim to its fullest, without any regard for who gets in the way of his selfish endeavors. There’s a reason the character has been dubbed “Batman meets the Joker.”
At one stage, Joe Carnahan was incredibly interested in directing. He even penned a script that Millar himself showered with praise. The filmmaker, who delivered a series of sharp cult actioners in Smokin’ Aces, The A-Team, The Grey and Stretch, was last mentioned in connection with the movie back in August 2012.
Since then, things have remained quiet, and it’s thought that Millar’s recent big screen success with Kingsman: The Secret Service is responsible for rekindled interest in Nemesis.
