In an unlikely pairing, Mark Strong will be teaming up with Sacha Baron Cohen for Louis Leterrier’s Grimsby. The Sony Pictures comedy will see Strong as a British black ops agent who is forced to go on the run with his idiotic, football hooligan brother, played by Cohen.
Though you’d never expect these two actors to be paired up, I think that they’ll make for a very entertaining duo. Strong is mostly known for his serious, tough and no-nonsense characters, while Cohen is more of a goofball, famous for characters like Bruno and Borat. Together, they will likely produce a result that’s highly comedic, thanks to the extreme differences in their personalities and demeanour. Plus, anything that Sacha Baron Cohen is involved in is worth a watch, in my books at least. Having someone like Strong to play off is just the icing on the cake and I really do think that the two will make for a very funny match.
No word yet on when the film will shoot, but with a completed script, and two lead actors now set, it shouldn’t be long before Grimsby heads in front of cameras. When we hear more, we’ll be sure to let you know.
