Marvel fans were delighted by the addition of Avengers: Infinity War to Netflix over the Christmas holiday, giving first-time viewers and MCU obsessives alike the opportunity to witness Thanos on his mission to eradicate half of all life from the universe.
But one little detail about the upload that some subscribers have taken issue with is the synopsis of the film, which summarizes the year’s biggest blockbuster as follows:
“Superheroes amass to stop intergalactic sociopath Thanos from acquiring a full set of Infinity Stones and wiping out half of all life in the universe.”
While this description seems more or less accurate, a significant number of fans aren’t too keen on seeing the Mad Titan being diagnosed as an “intergalactic sociopath,” and took to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
Isn’t thanos a psychopath, not a sociopath? Pls correct me if my dumbass is wrong

Nonetheless, some Twitter users see no issue in categorizing Thanos as a sociopath, arguing that the description fits with his genocidal actions.
He totally is a sociopath! I don't get all the outrage.

We’re not here to play armchair psychologist to a fictional alien villain, but whether or not Thanos is technically a sociopath, you have to wonder if some professional counseling might’ve done the Mad Titan some good before he went and killed half the universe.
Regardless, now that Thanos has succeeded in his mission, he seems pretty content to leave the world to its own devices as he settles down for a quiet retirement. But while the tyrant may be done with the universe, the universe isn’t done with him, and you can expect Thanos to be stirred from his current, peaceful state with next year’s Avengers: Endgame.
As it stands, there’s still some debate to be had around what sort of role the character will have in the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, though Karen Gillan recently hinted that Nebula will be working through some psychological issues of her own when she faces her villainous father. And we’ll find out how this long-running family drama comes to a head when Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
