Since its inception, the overriding theme associated with Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland has been the majestic nature of the titular utopia. As the product of some of the greatest minds of the 20th century – including Walt Disney and Albert Einstein – it’s been described as an alternate reality in which anything is possible. Futurism 101, basically. But Disney’s upcoming sci-fi flick has plenty of room for action sequences, too, with this latest trailer showcasing some of the inventive weaponry that Britt Robertson and George Clooney will need if they are to fight for tomorrow.
With little over a month to its release, Disney has essentially reached the sweet spot in its Tomorrowland marketing, revealing just enough of the film’s premise and characters to give audiences a gist of the action, all the while keeping the pressing questions – how does Robertson’s character fit into proceedings? – largely under wraps. Here’s hoping that nothing more is spoiled ahead of time in the vein of that infamous Terminator: Genisys trailer.
Tomorrowland is slated to open in theaters on May 22, with Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Thomas Robinson joining Robertson and Clooney for the adventure. Until then, be sure to let us know your early impressions of the film down below.
