Production for Thunderbolts has been placed on pause amid the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, per a new report from Deadline. The movie was expected to begin filming in three weeks time but now won’t resume production until the strike is over.

According to the recent report, crew members for Thunderbolts were notified of the pause of the project earlier today. While this movie might be the biggest implication of the ongoing strike, other projects have also had their plans altered as a result. Marvel recently halted its production on its upcoming Disney Plus series Wonder Man due to protests nearby the Los Angeles set.

Similarly, Blade the upcoming MCU reboot has also been paused meaning that the Deadpool 3 and Captain America: New World Order are seemingly the only Marvel Studios projects still in active production at the time of writing. Once the striking is over Wonder Man and Thunderbolts will be back in production, but Blade’s production timeline isn’t so clear.

Marvel Studios aren’t the only one in the comic book film world that has been impacted by the recent strike. Recently the protests shut down production on The Penguin series which is currently in production over at DC. Fans should expect to see some release timelines for these projects adjust as a result.

The WGA strike began on May 2 as writers strike for better streaming residuals and staffing regulation changes.
