Originally, the company planned to debut the teaser trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, which has since been leaked online (with Hydra being the lead suspect). So, what could this hour-long event contain?
Well, sources suggest that Marvel will focus primarily on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., debuting a new preview clip for the show and perhaps offering fresh details on the remainder of the season. But this is an hour-long event. Plus, in the wake of DC’s massive announcement a couple of weeks ago, it could well be that Marvel is prepping to reveal its full cinematic lineup.
What makes us say that? For one, Robert Downey Jr. recently suggested that the “Marvel roster will be made public soon,” following up on the confirmation of his own role in Captain America 3 — thereby instigating the Civil War thread. And while Downey Jr. is renown for being an expert jokester, tomorrow seems like an opportune time for Marvel to finally put the rumours to bed and give fans an idea of what to expect in the years to come.
Because quite frankly, almost every actor in Hollywood has been linked to the role of Doctor Strange at this point, with notable stars including the likes of Keanu Reeves — who recently poured cold water over the speculation — Joaquin Phoenix, Ryan Gosling and Ewan McGregor all in contention for the part. So, when the studio heads at Marvel take to the stage at the El Capitan Theater tomorrow, will we finally have confirmation of who will play Dr. Stephen Strange?
There’s a ton of possible announcements that Marvel may or may not make, with Iron Man 4, Doctor Strange and the studio’s full roster all on the cards. We’ll be sure to keep you right up to date as the information appears, so stay tuned.
