We are, at the time of writing, little over a month out from the debut of Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp – in the U.S., at least, given viewers in the United Kingdom have been forced to wait until the beginning of August before they lay eyes on Scott’s second solo adventure – and to celebrate, the Powers That Be have rolled out yet another promo of Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly’s heroes in action.
Embedded above, this sneak peek is designed to court Scott Lang out of retirement, as it seems Rudd’s reluctant Avenger is still under house arrest following the events of Captain America: Civil War.
But his dangerous foray into the Quantum Realm has allowed another Marvel villain (read: Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost) to slip out between the cracks, leaving Ant-Man with little choice but to team up with Hank and Hope Pym once more. Granted, the stakes are a little lower than, say, Avengers: Infinity War, but after so much time spent obsessing over Thanos and the Infinity Stones, the MCU could do with an injection of good old-fashioned fun.
As for this new reel of footage, above you’ll see our titular duo decked out in their respective super suits (spoilers: it seems the Wasp’s costume is much more advanced than that belonging to Ant-Man). All in all, it’s a tantalizing peek at Marvel’s third 2018 tentpole, and it’s since been confirmed that Ant-Man and the Wasp will spend much of the sequel searching for Janet Van Dyne, the long-lost MCU character to be played by Marvel newcomer Michelle Pfeiffer.
Look for Ant-Man and the Wasp to make a beeline for U.S. theaters on July 6th, before it journeys across the pond 28 days later.
