20th Century Fox’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot is heating up. We’ve already heard that director Josh Trank wants to work with Michael B. Jordan again (the two previously did Chronicle together) and now we’re receiving news that the studio has their eye on Miles Teller for the role of Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic.

Teller, best known for films like 21 and Over, Project X and Rabbit Hole, is certainly on the rise. He’s earning a lot of praise for The Spectacular Now and will also have a sizeable role in the upcoming YA novel adaptation, Divergent.

Apparently, the script for Fantastic Four is still being worked on and the film doesn’t have a casting director yet but Teller and Trank have been in talks and he is the top choice for the role. We likely won’t have any official confirmation on this for a while but right now, it’s looking likely.

Personally, I’m indifferent in regards to Teller and I’m not overly-enthusiastic about this casting choice. Then again, I haven’t seen him in The Spectacular Now just yet but I do hear very good things about it and apparently, it shows a different side of the actor and lets him put his talents on full display.

Still, if they are going for such a young cast for this reboot, then I could certainly think of a few other rising stars who may be better suited to the role. Don’t get me wrong, Teller is perfectly likeable and all, but he just wouldn’t be my first choice.
