New A Million Ways To Die In The West Poster Gives Us The Finger, Plus New TV Spots

Amidst all the explosions, superheroes and big special effects that are headed our way this summer, there will be one film that could be just as profitable as heavy-hitters like X-Men: Days of Future Past and Transformers: Age of Extinction, despite not having anywhere close to the budget that they do. Of course, I'm talking about Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die In The West.

Amidst all the explosions, superheroes and big special effects that are headed our way this summer, there will be one film that could be just as profitable as heavy-hitters like X-Men: Days of Future Past and Transformers: Age of Extinction, despite not having anywhere close to the budget that they do. Of course, I’m talking about Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways To Die In The West.

As one of my most-anticipated summer movies, I’m really starting to get excited right about now, given that we’re under a month away from what looks to be the funniest film of the year, and one that will likely be on par with, if not better than, the director’s last effort, Ted.

For those unfamiliar with A Million Ways To Die In The West, it follows MacFarlane’s cowardly farmer, “who backs out of a gunfight and subsequently loses his girlfriend.  When he later meets the wife of a notorious outlaw who teaches him how to shoot, he gets an opportunity to win his pride back, but must choose between reclaiming an old love or kindling a new one.”

Today, we have a brand new poster for the film along with two brief TV spots, which introduce us to both the 500,554th and 543,720th ways to die in the west: death by doctor and death by ice. At only about 30 seconds long, neither spot gives us much footage (in fact, some of it is recycled), but there are several one-liners in both that will no doubt have you cracking up.

As for the poster, it’s pretty much exactly what you’d expect when it comes to promo material for the film. It displays a gigantic cactus that is shaped to give those who are looking at it the middle finger. Mildly offensive, but definitely clever. Kudos, Universal.

A Million Ways To Die In The West heads to theatres on May 30th, and I cannot wait. Check out the new spots and poster below and let us know what you think.
