We’ve already broke the news that Carol Danvers’ next MCU appearance will be during her cameo in the Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel. And now, our sources (the same ones who revealed that the show was happening a week before it was announced) are telling us that the events that transpire during the series will lead right into Captain Marvel 2, much in the same way that WandaVision will tie in directly with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
It’s been known that Kamala Khan would eventually feature in both Marvel movies and shows, but fans likely had no idea that it would happen so early on. It’s becoming increasingly clear that anyone who wants to keep up with the rapidly developing MCU needs to get Disney Plus as soon as possible though. The streaming service hasn’t even been launched yet, but it feels like people who don’t watch all of these TV series set in the cinematic universe are destined to be completely lost when the movies hit theaters.
Ms. Marvel is most known for being the first Muslim superhero to headline her own comic book. Now, she’s becoming an instrumental part of the MCU and though the cast of the show has yet to be announced, it’s been rumored that Mindy Kaling may be on board in some capacity.
Whether she ends up being involved or not remains to be seen, but for now, we know that British scribe Bisha K. Ali is both the writer and showrunner for the series, after working as a staff writer on Hulu’s remake of Four Weddings and a Funeral.
We don’t yet know if Kamala Khan will have a starring role – or any role for that matter – in the Captain Marvel sequel, but if the show takes off like Marvel thinks it will, then it’s only a matter of time before she starts getting big budget blockbusters of her own.
