If there’s one thing you can say about Ridley Scott films, it is that they are never lacking in marketing. Not wishing to change that formula, the teasing of Alien: Covenant continues, with the release of the tiniest snippet via Facebook to mark the milestone of 365 days until release.
For fans of the franchise, it will be a fairly creepy piece of footage featuring, as it does, a shot of one of the characters of the film peacefully snoozing in hyper-sleep. We know, though, that terrible things tend to happen when you hyper-sleep in an Alien movie.
Few specifics are known about the plot here, beyond the fact that it revolves around the character played by Michael Fassbender in 2012’s Prometheus. Noomi Rapace also returns to the cast, and is joined by Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, Carmen Ejogo and Uli Latukefu. It is Katherine Waterston’s character – Daniels – that features in today’s clip.
For more information, you can check out the official synopsis below:
“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
Alien: Covenant is written by Michael Green, Jack Paglen and John Logan, and is released on August 4th, 2017.
